Stuck in loading hell? Netflix constantly buffering? I know been there done that, everyone has wished for it to end...crappy wifi that is.
Today's Tech Tip: Placement! Placement! Placement! It means everything in terms of wifi. Try to place your router in the most central area of your home for the best signal possible!
Avoid placing it in bathrooms or kitchens, as the mirrors will reflect the signal causing it to most likely go away from the areas where you would use your devices most. Microwaves are also the arch nemisis of all routers, as they use the exact same signal. Whenever you use the microwave, you will most certainly lose your wifi signal.
You also want to avoid aquariums because they act like mirrors and again degrade the signal.
It may also be beneficial to place your router as close to the ceiling as possible, especially if you have a second floor or in a room on that second floor, because signals are broadcast in all directions but they tend to be sent downward, toward the floor.
